Satellite Media Tours (SMT's) are known in the industry for being
challenging.
Typically the hours are long with the day starting before dawn. The Chef has to "demo"
the recipe repeatedly for several hours on live broadcast's across the nation. Often ranging between 20-35 times
over a period of 4-6 hours, with a fresh and thoughtful position each time.
For the styling team...the job is to
re-set as quickly, swiftly and as quietly as possible within very short periods of time. This takes a lot of preperation
and planning, since there is no time to run out and get missing items. "Set-ups" are multiplied by 25-40 times including
ingredients, equipment and so on.
The Gourmet Butterfly Team enjoys the challenges that often come with
SMT's. We try to express a true sense of the Chef's personality, feature their products and create an environment
that encompasses them. We make every attempt to be as prepared and ready for anything that can happen inevitably with
live TV.
I personally feel a tremendous sense of responsibility and gratitude to the Chefs, knowing
they rely on us being prepared to support them
Below are a few SMT examples to click on.
"Many thanks
to everyone that request our services. Especially Sandra Lee, Guy Fieri, Cat Cora, Robin Miller, Rebecca from NBN and everyone
at the Food Network!"
